The Economic Policy Institute released some interesting data on the cost of living by US County via a Family Budget Calculator.  Anne Arundel County came in at an annual salary need of $99,570.  This included (for a family of four) a housing allowance of just $1,692 per month, well below the county average, which I would estimate at $2,000 per month.  So, in reality a true adjusted housing cost would be about $5,000 more per year topping the $100k mark on an annual salary needed to make the county affordable.
