The Gambrills real estate market was hopping this February, matching last years number of sales exactly  with an 18% increase in year over year sold dollar volume largely attributable to our $500,000+ new construction market.

The Crofton real estate market held steady in January with just 3 fewer sales than last month.  The slight % change year over year is attributed all to that.  There simply isn't enough inventory.  With the advent of the new high school, real estate in Crofton is even more popular and we expect prices to spike up a bit as we anticipate the opening of that school.

Home sales in Severn MD were down slightly over the same period in 2018 in
part due to low inventory.  Days on market was actually down indicating that
what little inventory there is selling.  Conventional loans lead the pack this

a +31% increase in the total sold dollar volume over January 2018.  This
increase in sales is about a month earlier than we usually have our "Spring"

We've all heard the news about base housing issues but news seems to be scattered and inconsistent. i have to say that, being actively involved with the Fort Meade real estate market and working frequently with families who live in base housing, I have heard far more good than bad.  Not to negate the issue because families HAVE been horribly effected by health issues related to mold at Fort Meade and other military bases.  And having that happen even once, with something SO preventable is absolutely unacceptable.  

What we're doing here is preparing a running log of any information that we see on the issue, how it is in the news and steps that are being taken to make things right.  Please, please feel free to share in the comments your experience with base housing, good or bad.  We want to hear from you!
